Setting up Plateautel.net email on Windows 10
Launch Mail
- Type "Mail" into the search bar next to the start menu.Searching Mail in Windows 10
- Click the "Mail" icon that appears in the search results. The mail application should open on your screen.
Add a New Account
There are two ways to add an email account in Mail. If mail hasn't been setup before, you will get a Welcome window inviting you to setup an email account. If mail has been setup already, you will have to access the mail settings and create a new account. The following are instructions for both scenarios:

If mail hasn't been setup
- Click "Get Started".Windows 10 Mail Getting Started button.

If mail has been setup
- Click the Settings icon in the bottom left.Windows 10 Mail Settings
- On the right side of the mail window, the settings pane will open. Click on "Accounts".Windows 10 Mail Account Settings
- Click "add Account".Windows 10 Mail add account button.
Email Settings
- On the new account screen, choose Advanced Setup.Windows 10 Mail advanced setup.
- Choose Internet email

On the next screen, enter the following settings:
- Account Name: Anything you would like to name this account.
- Your Name: The name that people will see when you send them an email from this account.
- Incoming Mail Server: IMAP.plateautel.net
- Account Type: Choose IMAP4 (recommended)
- User Name: Enter the email address for the account you are setting up.
- Password: The password for the email account you are setting up.
- Outgoing Mail Server: IMAP.plateautel.net
- Uncheck the checkboxes for "Outgoing server requires authentication", "Require SSL for incoming email", "Require SSL for outgoing email".
- Leave checked the checkbox for "Use the same user name and password for sending mail".
- Click the "Sign In" button.The Windows 10 Mail sign in button.
- On the "Setup Successful" message click the "Done" button. The Windows 10 mail setup successful window.
Setting up Plateautel.net email on an IPAD
If you want to use your IPAD to check your email, we recommend using the built-in mail application with the settings outlined below.
BEFORE YOU START: To set up your iPAD with your email. From the home screen, tap Settings
- On the Settings screen, tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
- From the Accounts section, tap Add Account...
- Tap Other
- Tap Add Mail Account

Complete the following fields, and then tap Save:
- Name -- The name to display on your email.
- Address -- Your email address.
- Password -- Your email account password.
- Description -- A description of the email address to display in the email account list on you iPAD
- Tap IMAP

Enter you Incoming Mail Server information:
- Host Name -- The incoming server name. IMAP.plateautel.net
- User Name -- Your full email address.
- Password -- Your email account password.

Enter your Outcoming Mail Server information:
- Host Name -- The outcoming server name. IMAP.plateautel.net
- User Name -- Your full email address.
- Password -- Your email account password.
- Tap Save

Setting up Plateautel.net email on Gmail
You can read your Gmail messages from a client or device that supports POP, like Microsoft Outlook.
- Sign in to Gmail
- Click the gear in the right
- Select Settings
- Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP
- Select Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on
- Choose what to do with your messages after your POP client or device receives them
- Click Save Changes
- Once you've enabled POP in your Gmail settings, you need to configure your client with the settings for your Plateautel.net email
